As a Vegan I have to say, good for you! Not because it's gross that it comes from a Cow's udder (t's and d's, so easy to mix up eh?) but because of the number of cows who are killed prematurely because of the dairy industry and the unnecessary suffering they go through in their all too short lives.

If you're serious about giving up dairy, the thing to remember is to supliment the nutritious value of it with alternative sources. Some soya milk such as Alpro is fortified with calcium and actually contains 3 times as much calcium as cows milk. It is also fortified with vitamin B12 another important nutrient which has plenty of Vegan sources like Marmite!

There is no reason, health or otherwise, for humans to continue exploiting animals. I'm a healthy, happy and wouldn't give up my vegan lifestyle for anything. The vegan society website has a section on nutrition and I'd recommend you check it out.

Yes, my uncle owns a dairy farm. He has 20 dairy cows that he has to milk twice a day. Watching the milk go from the cow to the bulk tank is awesome.

LOL I like the Tesco answer. My man works there say to him for me. He is going to work now lol. Milk comes from the utters of a cow, so what?!? Milk does the body good so drink up or lose bone mass before you are 30!

My issue with milk is not where it comes from, it's all the crap that the milk industry puts into it. Common milk that you buy in a grocery store is very bad for you. All of the milk I drink now is organic, from companies that have reputations for keeping their cows happy.

I grew up on a dairy farm and milked cows every day. Not to worry...the milk goes through a pasteurizing process after it leaves the farm...dope;)

If that milk is good enough for a baby cow to drink, it should be good enough for you.

By eliminating dairy from your diet, you risk malnutrition. Dairy provides important vitamins and minerals to your diet.

Please reconsider... If you look at where any foodstuff (including vegitation) comes from, could it justify stopping eating altogether?
