I don't think I have an allergy. I had a cold last week. The fever is gone. But my nose is still running and the dry throat and coughing remains.

Easy. Just up your fluid intake and stop drinking cokes. The extra fluids will think out the mucous and help the dry throat. Sodas contain salt that will dry out out. Expect to urinate more often, but I guarantee it will help with your nasal problems and prevent things like bronchitis. Good Luck.

I've actually wondered this.
Here is what I found out.

Blood passes through your mucus membrane in your sinuses.
When your body needs either:
A>To flush out the nasal cavity, or
B> to rid itself of waste
Blood is forced through the mucus membrane and the blood plasma is pulled out of it. The plasma is what is used to lubricate your nose and as it mixes with dust and pollen that is in your nose the mucus (or snot) forms. Thus, since mucus can form as fast as blood is pumped through your body, you can literally have a limitless supply of mucus pouring out of your nose as long as you maintain any amount of hydration.

Try Mucinex. I would also ask a nurse if you might have some type of allergy.

You aren't drinking enough water every day. You need to drink half or your body weight in ounces of pure water - not soda, not juice, not milk, but pure water. It will improbve your life more than you know.
