When my children were younger my husband worked for a company that had a cabin for employee use. Once or twice a year we would pack up the car and head up to Payson, Arizona. The cabin sat in the forest, and had a balcony over-looking a creek. If felt like there was absolutely no one else around but our family.
We saw a lot of wild life including a wolf, havalena, snake, and bear. We use to hike the forest, play in the creek, grill, sit by the fireplace and watch videos we took up. My son stood in a trance over the creek once, his hands in a ready position and he actually caught a fish with his hands.
These were the greatest vacations.

well.. it is not a particularly spectacular place. I am a former 70's hippy.. 'peace & luv' and I enjoy communing with nature.. I go to Bonneyville Mills (and yes it does have a working mill.. I buy flour.. I bake health breads..) I'm a vegetarian, grow herbs (yes and I do cook and bake w'them.) I'm a lover of nature. I find the present world to be too much for me sometimes and enjoy retreating into a simple way.. I listen to the peeper frogs, enjoy playing with flowers .. I entwine them in my hair (I am not kidding U.) I love to walk the trails at this spectacular place.. It has a small crook.. I pick a flower, throw it in the water, wade barefoot. I turn 8 again.. (I am an old woman of 54.. heh.. I'm not all that bad.. I am a marathon runner.. I don't run the trails tho.. too risky as I might 'trip' in a rabbit hole, eh?)

I love a good location where I can have fun. I've been around the world and back, but still love being local. I've enjoyed different beaches in the U.S. but would love to try an island in the carribbean with my wife........
