lol. It's not great for you by any stretch. BUT, the government has published nonsense reports on the harmful effects of weed, for decades. It's all hogwash. The Native Americans used it for centuries, along with several other natural herbs. There are no reports of their ancestors having ill effects. Weed was demonized in the late 30s and 40s, because the Dupont family came up with a new process for making Paper. The old process involved using Hemp. Which was WAY cheaper. To sell the nation and the government on it, they started a smear campaign against smoking weed. The leading newspaper publisher of the time signed on board, and a coast to coast smear campaign resulted in weed being banned, whereas it was theretofore generally ignored as a vice.
So, truthfully, while I wouldn't do it, in reality, it's less harmful than the other vices that are currently legal.

Actually, none of those are good for you. Alcohol, weed, and cigarettes contain chemicals that can cause various forms of cancer. Alcohol itself can cause liver problems. Weed and alcohol also contain chemicals that can actually kill off brain cells. Weed and cigarettes are inhaled and thus can cause lung diseases like emphysema. And then there are the problems caused by people who use weed and/or alcohol and try to do things like driving and end up killing someone. Plus cigarette and weed smoke can be inhaled by people other than the person using them (second hand smoke). These people are at risk for cancer, emphysema and the like also.

More than 10 years ago, endocanabinoids receptors have been discover in different types of human cells, namely in our immune system... if we have specific receptors and we produce THC and derivatives, that's because we need them for some reason. That is probably why, cannabinoids have been historically used in medicine, until the cotton producers in America lobbyed against... and so it became associated with crime and delinquency, like any other illegal drug.
So, don't ask these questions, just smoke it!

weed is like gods gift to man. check out the rastafari religion besides so many people use it as a sorce of inspiration for lyrics beatles,led zepplin,the who, even outcoming bands like chemical romance etc..
its great for meditation as well

Yes, it is. Long term and/or heavy use will damage the myelin sheaths in your brain and you will think slower and have problems with memories.

It is not better than alcohol, but may pose less of a health risk than tobacco.
