Theres still a short, going to a larger amp fuse will only over heat the wiring if its not fixed right. I have seen all kinds of shorts in my life. No 2 are the same. I have seen a leaking windshield that dripped water on a truck the same as yours and short the fuse box out. A good look from one end to the other on your wiring for that circuit is the only way to trace the short out.

you do not say how lengthy it takes for the fuse to blow. no matter if it truly is prompt, then you definately have a dull short someplace. no matter if it truly is intermittent, then it truly is wires rubbing together. both way, you could ought to take the sprint aside to seek for a unadorned cord. A 33% overfusing even as no longer counseled will no longer burn your truck down. 8 - 12 gauge cord with the insulation rubbed off will. foodstuff for concept: even as GM isn't the only motor vehicle business enterprise at fault right here, I nevertheless do no longer understand why the NTSB nevertheless has no longer required some sort of Tefzel cord (the stuff they use in jets) in American autos. Ever see those enormous black spots on the aspect of the constrained-access highway? There are the position autos or autos actually burned to the floor in mere minutes by using electric powered fires.

increase the amp to 10 and see what happens, you may have to much accessories running off that fuse and it cant take the load. i have had to do it in cars i had and all worked out fine. but i would not put a much bigger amp fuse in there in case there is a faulty wire it could catch fire. but by gradually increasing it will be OK, because it will still allow the fuse to blow if there is a faulty wire.

Ask the shop to check for an electrical shortage in the
system. Possibly due to faulty or worn wiring.
