...that fat, ugly girls always hang around good-looking ones and don't let men anywhere near them? Like, when I started my master's degree, there was a girl (she had a really bad attitude problem, I later found out) that was stopping me talking to another girl that looked like a model. She just kept on getting in the way and talking - and she'd only just met her as well! It wasn't like they were friends or anything! Do you reckon they're just jealous that they're not getting any attention?

Was she a lesbian competing with you? Sounds like a bull. Or maybe what's known as a c... blocker (rhymes).
My best guess is that the pretty one specificall asked the "attraction challenged" one to keep you away from her because she thought you looked like you do in your picture.

Whether they are fat or ugly (to you) is incidental. They know you're a **** so they're doing what the other woman invariably wants - keeping you away. Women do this all the time. They don't need to know eachother to stick up for eachother. It's probably your attitude - it puts people off.

Could be, but that would be a really mean thing to do. If that other girl really wanted to talk to you she wouldn't let her "friend" get in the way.

It could be that the less attractive gals feel more insecure about themselves. To be in the "in" crowd, they may try to hang around the more attractive ones. Popularity by association.
