As soon as possible. Those big choices need to be made right away so you don't loose the date. Alot of popular spots get booked a year or so in advance.

Other things to book right away:
Church
Hall
Photographer
DJ
Caterer

As soon as possible! Reception locations can book up fast - especially if they are the popular ones (or the only one) in a town. Not sure if your wedding date is September 8, 2007 or August 9, 2007 based on those numbers but you're basically only a year out and some places can have a two year waiting list.

Reserve your reception and ceremony locations as soon as you possibly can. There are only so many weeks in a month and while September isn't the height of wedding season, it isn't at the bottom of the list, either. Many places will be booked solid a year in advance.

What I recommend is to choose and book your reception site pronto and then take care of the ceremony site, assuming it is different.

It really depends on what part of the country you are from - but why wait? I think that you should decide about the size of your guest list and start looking at places as soon as possible. In bigger cities and at popular wedding spots they'll book up to a year in advance easily. I came across some venues in San Francisco that booked two years ahead of time! So just to be safe, I think you should start looking as soon as possible.

September goes fast!!!! I tried to book a whole year in advance for September 2006 and so as soon as you are positive and have the deposit is what i think. My wedding is 6 months away but i have everything booked already and i have to say that this is the most relaxing event i have ever planned. i did it slowly but well in advance and now i am enjoying being engaged instead of running around like a crazy bridezilla! Enjoy and Congrats!

Asap. I'd say at least December of 06 and January of 07. Since you have the date, you want to reserve it as soon as possible and also when you have the money.

The other thing is you want to make sure you aren't going to change your mind so you don't lose any money!

Congratulations!

Like everyone else said, you should reserve it as soon as you decide. My husband and I got engaged and married within four months. We picked our wedding date by what dates the hall had cancellations for! The exact date wasn't an important issue for us, though. I know some people like to pick a date that's significant to them. If you're flexible, you can always see what they have available if your date is booked.

you should have an contract with the venue. i'd search for suggestion from an criminal professional. this can be a probability to artwork mutually and discover an option region. reckoning on the position you liver there are all sorts of different places! you could continuously use word of mouth and deliver out playing cards to enable people comprehend the substitute in region. it is going to workout consultation all accurate. Get the criminal professional on the activity of having deposits and plausible damages for cancelling. Did you've a deposit? Did they go back it? do not have any concern, you could triumph over this and nonetheless have a outstanding wedding ceremony!
