I have a close friend who runs a daycare. She was accused by parents who had the kid their one day barely knowing the baby sitter. The sitter rocked the baby to sleep gently patting its bottom. She even changed its diaper in front of the mother and the sitter saw nothing at the time. An hour and a half later the mother has police come and talk to my friend. I know for a fact my friend is 1000 percent innocent what should she do to protect herself from losing her credibility and business?

She can get letters from people who bring their kids. She has to keep the court dates and it will drag out for months... my friend is going through it. That is all she can do. Being falsely accused is a shame. The b*tch who brought the cops should be in jail!

Your friend needs your support. Be there in court with her.

She should talk to a lawyer maybe see about filling for slander. I worked at a daycare for five years. There will probably be an inspection by the state. They usually get thrown out unless there have been more than one complaint. Your friend has nothing to worry about unless she has done something wrong.

thats tough, try a private investigator they can sort through alot of the facts and acusations against your friend that they wouldn't be able to do. sounds like the parents are trying to cover up something they might have done themselves, also she should think about getting a security system that can be seen live by parents etc. on the web & can be recorded for any future claims should they come up

Maybe this mother is looking to make a quick buck from the sitter.

What are they accusing her of, exactly? Does the child have bruises or something? It would seem to me that it would be incredibly difficult to prove abuse by someone who was caring for the child one single day. It looks like these people were just looking for a victim. Support your friend.

I would definitely bring a countersuit for defamation of character and that stuff. It makes a clear statement that you feel you are being attacked and are at no fault. Clearly, these people were just out for some quick cash.

what do the other parents say that bring their children? Have they been bringing them for a while? Are they willing to speak to officials about the quality of care their children receive? Are they willing to right letters of reference?
