Ideally I'd like to go from the midlands/NE England to Cleveland, Ohio but any hints/tips from the answers community would be appreciated.

You usually won't be able to fly direct to Cleveland, you will need to fly to somewhere like Boston or New York and catch a connecting flight.

Almost all flights to the USA are from London (LHR and LGW), but you can also fly from Manchester and Birmingham.

The cheapest flights are from London.

[EDIT] I just checked and there is a direct non-stop flight to Cleveland with Continental Airlines from Gatwick. About £700.

Seriously. Go to source box below where you will see links to Opodo and Last Minute.com. Also there are "Flight Tools" to help you figure out which airlines to use etc
Good luck.

i was going to say "swim" but i can see many people beat me to that answer.

I would check with the airline websites. I don't know which airlines travel to the UK, so you would have to find out.

Have you checked out air France? They usually have cheap flights to all over Europe.
