Sorry to tell you this, but they changed the rules that if you make over 25,000 you will recieve va benefits unless its service connected. If you think you have a service connected condition you can always file for compensation and there is no time limit to claim for that. If you make less than 25,000 per a year than you can file for medical care but more than 10,000 you have to pay co-pays. If you make less than 10,000 you dont have to pay for any co-pays.

Depends on your discharge and if you are a disabled veteran. Just because you spent time in the military does not mean that you are entitled to medical/dental for the rest of your life after you seperate from the military. It's just like any other job unless you retire or you become disabled during your tour. You loose benefits once you leave.

Do you have a service connected disability? Are you retired? If not, you're probably just not eligbile.

Those who are eligible are those that are disabled, retired, and those who are less fortunante (no jobs, no education, poor health, etc.).

If you're making enough money to afford your own health and dental care, you shouldn't be allowed to have the government pay for it.

I'm a veteran, too. I have a 40% disability rating. However, I don't have VA medical and dental assitance. The only health care I'm eligible for is for anything directly related to my disability.

Well first I would like to say, Thank you for your service.

That does not seem right, you served this country and did your job. I did not know that you had to have a certain income to qualify for benefits.

I found a web site for you that may or may not be of any help.
https://www.1010ez.med.va.gov/sec/vha/1010ez/

Here around where I live we have over a thousand homeless veterans on the streets. We make them scarves and try to give them items they may need. We visit VA hospitials and take them up items also. People need to step back and be thankful for what they have done for us.

Try this, if you see someone who has a military license or wears that WWII hat (example) shake their hand tell them thank you, let them know you didn't forget.

Best of Luck to you, I hope you can get this worked out.

I'm a veteran too, and I have resolved that, just like active duty, the whole system is like one big freight train going 5 mph. You can't push the train, no one's going to listen to you. You can't stop the train, it's too big and powerful. You can't talk to anybody driving the train, it's too loud. But once in awhile you can hop on and go for a ride, and that's what some of the VA benefits do. You've tried to hop on the "medical benefits" car and they’ve kicked you off. Go find another car to ride on & other VA benefits if you like, but don't bother messing with the train itself.

Hey jarhead, do you have service related medical problems? This is normally when the VA steps in. What's with this dental thing? Unless you are currently on active duty, I have never heard of the VA performing dental services, unless you have oral problems related to your time in service.

Back to the drawing board my friend, because you have the wrong assumptions of what the VA will do for you. Semper Fidelas

Veteran benefits are irrespective of the money you make after retirement.
If your service is good enough to receive benefits under service rules, you qualify for benefits, unless you have been forcefully retired on discipline grounds..
