I am in the process of getting full sleeve tattoos, and was wondering about shaving my arms. In a lot of other similiar topics its deemed that if you are not a bodybuilder or athlete and you do shave your arms, you are 'gay'. I am a straight male, and just wouldnt want to have that impressions come across, especially being single. even though i have blonde arm hair, my tats look so much better with no arm hair... they really stand out and look more vibrant... so what are your thoughts?

Yea, i meant as far as after the work is done... i know the artist shaves at each session, i was thinking longer term.. thanks for the input though

if you feel that shaving your arms would make them stand out more then do it, its best for you to be comfortable with their appearance on you than anything else because you have to live with them...

Don't shave them. Let the professional shave them before he puts the tattoo on. That way there are no nips. If you have to worry about people thinking you are 'gay'.....maybe you have homosexual tendencies that you are not aware of. A tattoo will not help out unless it says I am straight.

they will shave the part of your arm anyways that they are going to tattoo...if you are in the process of getting your tattoo, they must have shaved the spot then, right... i say just shave your damn arms and who cares what people think, do people's opinions rule your life.. do want you want to do, not what you "think" is more acceptable...who's life are you living anyways...

Go for it, If they are blond people probably wont even notice. when was the last time you noticed a persons arm hairs?

I wouldn't worry too much about, because you'll be surprised at how few people will notice that you've done it. Shave away, if that's what floats your boat!
