Tell her to check out other states - they may not pay as well, but chances are that the cost of living isn't as high in those areas, either. I know that Montana and Wyoming are having an awful time finding enough teachers, and are even condensing schools and enlarging classrooms just to cope. The kids need her.

Just have to keep looking and expand the area you're looking in. We're all having trouble finding jobs right now (I have one, but I'm looking for the next one). I just read an article that says the job search is taking a longer time now as compared to the beginning of the year.

I know the counties in my state all list job postings and allow applications to be completed on line. This makes looking for what you're qualified for easy.

Also, many states list job fairs on their state education site. This allows multiple interviews in one setting.

Good luck - teaching Rocks!

You don't mention where she lives or her qualifications so how could anyone help?

She shouldn't have trouble this time of year with school starting in about a month. She needs to contact area counties and apply through them. They will be needing teachers!
