There's only one motivation: the Republican Party wants him to help solidify the black voter base for mid-term elections.

The same motivation for speaking before any other group. Votes can only be the answer if he is campaigning for other republicans because he cannot run for president again.
It is amusing that people think that African Americans will not vote for Republican candidates. As African Americans are becoming more successful in the job market, and also learning the power of investing so to their fundamental way of viewing the world is changing. The number of African Americans voting for republicans is increasing with every election. Current numbers put the percentage at 13%, this is up from 8% 10 years ago. Personally I do not care who you vote for, just think critically, and choose the candidate you feel will best represent your interests whatever they may be. However it amazes me that people get upset that the president would speak to any group, especially when Democrats are always screaming about voters being dis in franchised.

I assume he was asked to speak. He has the same message for everyone in this nation. He's not looking for votes or acceptance, he don't need them. This President truly cares for people. He is not fake as so many are. Maybe that's why people think he has an agenda, because they are so used to politicians pandering for votes. I am looking forward to the headlines. I could write them now. I know what is going to happen, I know what is going to be said. I give the man credit for going in front of a group that has been so manipulated into a modern day slave camp by their own leaders.

Despite the overt and irrational hostility of the NAACP towards Bush (and Republicans), Bush has been holding out a hand in friendship to the NAACP for many years now. And their partisan hateful treatment of Bush has been particularly disgusting and loathsome.
Yet, because he is a good person and a devout Christian, he continues to hold out his hand to them in friendship. He's a better man than I.

jizzmopper m obviously doesn't know the terminology used (N), is reference to himself. My! You certainly have a low self esteem!
Bush's motivation is like any other politician. Go to the root for acceptance and dig in. The Latino population are now the major players.

Obviously to woe the black voter.
Lets just hope the black voter has learned their lesson about voting for the party that helps big business at the expense of the masses. And I hope they have learned to see through his lies and falsehoods.
