This depends on the manufacture and model of your computer. The prices are all different.

I recommend that you look this up at this great website. http://www.coastmemory.com

When you look up your computer, you will see how many SLOTS are in your computer, how much RAM came with it and what the MAXIMUM amount of RAM that it will take.

You see, if your computer has 4 slots, then the memory usually has to be set up with IDENTICAL pairs. If you have only two slots, and your computer can take 2GB, you might consider buying two 512MB strips, so you have 1GB of memory. That way, you will simply discard (or SELL) your existing RAM and know that you have IDENTICAL pairs in your computer.

These people are great. If the memory that you get does not work, you can send it back. They will help you to get the memory that works for your computer. I buy all of my memory from these people for my customers.

Good luck

26MB of ram doesn’t exist. I think you mean 256.
Anyway, an extra 256MB, is as low as 20$ (after rebates). You just need to put it in yourself. Your computer may only except amounts in 256 but most computers except any extra amounts. So if you have enough money you could add 512, making a total of
256
+
512
---------
768

99% of Computers have 1-4 slots for ram (most commoly 2)
One of them is taken up by the 256.
If you have another slot you could add another 256 in. (256+256=512)
You could also just replace the 256 with 512.
I don't know the specifices of your computer.
