The U.N's forces are comprised by all U.N. Members in support of the action they are taking place.

The UN does not have it's own standing military, however, they do have a limited number of personnel used for their own defensive positions throughout the world (i.e. office buildings and headquarters).

The UN has no military arm (yet). It depends on member nations. If a UN tank was struck by Hezbollah, nothing would happen. If it was struck by Israel, there would be general condemnation but nothing beyond that. The UN is biased also.

UN do no have a dedicated infantry.
The member countries share the responsibility for other deserving member countries.

Nothing happens if Israel hits a White Tank, America will veto any resolution asking Israel to say "Sorry".
If any one says "Hezbollah did it", sky will fall on the innocent women and children in the area and no one will ever ask "How many killed?"

More than just a "Bad Luck".

The UN 'rents' soldiers from third world countries. Think of them as involuntary mercenaries.

UN peacekeepers are generally useless.

The United Nations has no army of its own. It just requests its member states to send their soldiers but it cannot forcibly mobilize them.
