Same here! All my life I've had to have a TV or radio on or the ringing in my ears bugs me! I now have a Suntone Sound Machine. It plays different sounds and has a timer I can set before I go to sleep. I hope this helps!

If it's constant ringing or whistling or humming 24/7 at a constant volume then it sounds like tinnitus - I have it. Caused either by damage (in my case, I'm a sound engineer) or by age. Unfortunately it's incurable, but it shouldn't get any worse and you do get used to it over time. If it gets really intrusive at night or when it's quiet, you can try a ticking clock or a radio on quietly to break it up a bit. (That's what I do.)

If it's not constant then it could be either wax buildup which is easily rectified or just your aural nerves firing off every now and then, which is normal.
What you experienced last night (or did you just get up from sleep and switch on the computer) is a classic case of tinnitus. This

is a medical condition

wherein a person hears all kinds of strange clicking, ringing, buzzing, whistling or hissing sounds within the ear. What's so

worrisome about this condition
or a lot of people is that, there's actually no physical source of these sounds. What makes it even worse is that, no one else

seems to hear them.

Frankly, these people cannot be really blamed. Naturally, if you cannot see where the sound is coming from, and if you keep hearing

it, you are bound to

get worried.

In tinnitus, the sounds a person hears are actually perceptions. Since there's no actual source, they are often referred to as

"phantom noises". Will it help

you if you knew that about 8% of all people in the US suffer from tinnitus? Perhaps not, but at least now you know that you are not

alone who hears these

strange noises.

Is the ringing constant or does it come and go now and then?

Please note I am not a qualified doctor, but this is what I remember when I went to my GP with the same problem. Hope this helps, and good luck.

I would suggest if you have not seen an ear, throat, and eye specialist then you need to try and see one. However, it can be something as simple as a condition called tenoritis. It causes annoying ringing of the ears. If this is what you have then there are some things that you can do to help reduce the ringing to some degree. One thing is to cut back on caffine, things like chocolate, soda, coffee and such. Reseach your possible condition on WebMD. I hope that this helps.

In tinnitus, the sounds a person hears are actually perceptions. Since there's no actual source, they are often referred to as "phantom noises". I read that about 8% of all people in the US suffer from tinnitus so you are not the only one who hears these strange noises.

Tinnitus is actually not a disease. It is actually a symptom of a problem that is rooted deep, somewhere within your body. The problem could be a simple one like an infection in the ear, or even simpler, such as ear wax. Just clear the wax and get the infection treated, and the noises could go away. In some people, it could even be the result of a side-effect of a drug they took. Or it could be more complicated.

If you want to know more about this condition and wnat to learn how to solve naturally your problems with these annoying noises you should read this ebook: http://tinnitusmiraclehealthy.info

I know somebody who had the same problem with yours. Have you taken an antibiotic in the past. That could be one reason why you keep on having ringing in your ears. That was one of the side effects of taking the antibiotic. The side effect of the anti biotic may not have the same effect to other people but in your case it could have been. Other side effect is not only ringing but also amplification of sound and sometimes dizziness. I suggest that you divert your focus to other things so as not to be too conscious with the ringing. You need to learn to desensitize the ringing and eventually it will go away bit by bit.
Pls. note that advise is based on experience only. It would still be better to consult an MD and hope you find a good MD that could help your problem.

Yes, your ears will stop ringing--if this is a rare occurrence. Sometimes it takes a week! Sure sign of too much exposure, too loud and too long. Going forward, buy earplugs at the drug store. If you look closely, musicians use them while performing. There are throwaway earplugs, wax plugs and permanent pliable earplugs which usually come with a carry case so you have them at hand when needed.
