i too am a Christian (I tend towards the reformed baptist persuasion) who tries to be open minded. i love a lecture by my philosophy and logic professor that he gave about open-minded humility. God's command that we be humble dictates that we have an open mind knowing that in our humanness we could be wrong (though God is NEVER wrong!). it's all about balance, just like most things.

I have heard sermons from a great Presbyterian church. I'm Southern Baptist. I don't know too much about other domination's. I listen to many Pastors, Bishops, and Ministers on TV and the radio. As long as I hear what they say is coming from the Word of God, that's all I need. There are many liberal Church's, and many Conservative Church's. I find it wrong to talk about one another. God is our only judge and how we judge will be how we'll be judged, by the same measuring stick. I feel we all have our own conviction.

If you mean to judge the motivation of your heart then yes it is wrong, but if for instance your husband were to catch you in bed having sex with another man . Then it is not wrong to judge you in the fact that what you did was wrong.Sometimes people get carried away with the judging scripture and think we should not take a stand against sin.We should judge sin as wrong but at the same time encourage the person to repent and do what ever it takes to get away from any temptation. While understanding that we ourselves could be just as easily tempted if given the right circumstances

We may judge (point out) what the Bible calls sin (those spelled out) and the need people have for a savior, but we can not judge if a person is going to Heaven or Hell (because Jesus is the righteous judge).
If we see a brother or sister who is doing an obvious sin, we need to point it out to them (in love and concern) least they believe a lie and Satan turn them away from the truth.
But it is up to each person to be responsible for the obvious laws of the Bible and for those things that God's spirit tells that person.

Good luck in all that you do! Especially if your God allows you to be open minded...

i go to a baptist church , and do not know much about Presbyterians , God is our judge , your ,mine and everyone else . God's word says what it says , and means what it means . and that is what we have to go by . God's Word are the rules and conditions that we are judged by . God's Word is the Truth , and the Truth can't be bent , moved , turned, flipped , or changed, no matter what . God's Word says to lie is wrong , therefore lying is wrong . this is just an example , the Word of God speaks of many things which are sins in God's eyes , they always have been and always will be , like it or not. someone being Presbyterian, Baptist or any other name we people like to call ourselves has anything to do with it , this has never been a group thing , it has always been a One on one thing with God . you ask is it alright for me to judge you , no it's not , that's God job . our own actions and words judge us through what God's Word says . sin is sin , wrong is wrong God is the Judge . and the Truth will not be moved, for no one, you or myself. God Bless ,and my we live according to God's Will, and not our own.

nobody has the right to judge you ....but they will....some people don't have a life and so they take up "judging others" as kinda hobby and then try to mess with their minds. But, you my friend, shouldn't get upset with those retards. And if you are really open-minded, then you are on the right track....way to go man....way to go!!!!!

whose judging u? I'm certainly not am a christian too. my first Pastor taught me a valuable lesson I was a new Christian and all around me was there was chaos and I was right in the middle and he said u know you're doing the right thing for God when satan attacks which to me makes since when we r silent satan could care less but when we work for God it's like all hell breaks loose if u know what I mean so I've learned to rejoice when chaos strikes.

I am an Episcopalian, and I too find that our more conservative friends enjoy not only attacking Jews, Muslims, and other non-Christians, but also the more moderate/progressive denominations like yours and mine.
I hope you will continue to be "open minded," and may you, I, and others, continue to find strength and peace by being compassionate Christians, and not judgmental, exclusive ones.

Yes, I do believe it's ok to judge people. (Though I've not judged you based on your religion or denom.......... till you give me reason to). But it most certainly is alright to judge. If someone steals from you, are you not going to judge them as a theif??? and want justice for the theft??? That is judging... If you do something I think is wrong, I will judge you for it.
