I have a 17 month old who has very bad ezcema. A few days ago she developed a little diaper rash, so I used balmex. Now it irritated her ezcema and she has a god awful rash. Is there any diaper creams that I can use that are safe for her ezcema??

I have changed all of the cleaners, soaps, lotion, sunblock and dtergents(no fabric softner of course) and my doctor says that she disapproves of using steriod creams on a child my daughters age. I also found out that babies with ezcema(as well as adults) can become allergic to items that have worked in the past. My child does have irritability to zinc and zinc oxide witch is contained in most diaper creams. She also, amazingly enough, is sensitive to aquaphor and similar jellies. I don't know what else I can use. Any other sugesstions?

Sudocrem or Metanium cream for the diaper rash. I would re-apply the cream after every nappy change so there is a barrier to protect the skin all the time. If it is not improving, I would see the doctors about it.
If it gets really bad, your baby may need steroid creams but that should be on doctor's advice. Sometimes, there is super-added fungal infection so baby may need a fungal cream as well.
For the eczema ( if it is generally all over her limbs), do not use normal soaps for her bath. Instead use an emollient such as Oilatum. There are many other brands.
Also keep her skin moist by regularly applying creams or ointments - again several brands eg. E45, Oilatum etc

My first son had a HORRIBLE diaper rash. It would peel and bleed!!!
WE tried everything under the sun!!! Prescriptions, A & D, Balmex etc.
The ONLY one that WORKED was Antifungal Cream for Athletes Foot.
Amazingly enough it was at a parent's meeting that we were told about this. His rash cleared up in a matter of DAYS!!!!!
In regards to the Ezcema, have you changed laundry detergents, cleaning agents, diapers, wipes etc??? Your daughter MIGHT be allergic to these things.
When you do your laundry, TRY doing an EXTRA rinse to get everything out of her clothes!!!! See if that works.

there's some issues you need to objective. do not bathe him each and every nighttime - bathe him possibly once or twice a week. this would not recommend pass away him grimy, supply him a good sparkling down nightly. Bathing dries out the floor and could worsen his situation. additionally, do not use cleansing soap products and so on on him, in simple terms elementary heat water does high quality for comfortable skin. If the rash on his face looks greater like nappy rash, there's a raffle that there is too lots moisture enhance around there. Is he a dribbler? Take care to wipe him often and attempt to maintain him dry. If his formulation drips down whilst he's feeding, attempt putting a bib up around the place the drips pass. anybody looks to choose diverse products, yet I have been given the ideal outcomes with Oilatum infant. You do might desire to smother it on dry patches, and do it often. The Dr might prescribe a steroid cream if it particularly is severe. This does sparkling it up nicely, yet attempt to apply it sparsly, it thins the floor and makes the undertaking worse long term. cut back down on your kin chemical ingredients. attempt a infant/eczema friendly detergent (Boots do a good one, despite if it would not scent great), and vacuum often. Even your products can worsen him, so shop fragrance/physique spray to a minimum and attempt switching to roll on deoderant in case you do not use it already.

I am just 15 so of no help. But my mother didn't use disposable plastic diapers on me ever. We still have smooth butts. She used napkins/ nude cotton cloths and tied it up loosely wioth pins. It means extra washing but it's cooling and fresh(make sure not crisp and starchy)Also don't apply any moisturizer or baby powder to that. The former could exacerbate the eczema and the powder dry ur skin.Try holding wet ice. Happy Baby Loving(It's part of the roller-coaster when parents turn dermatalogist, if ur lucky it'd be ur last time:I know of parents who take their adolescents for scar treatment, forget about pock marks and acne)!

According to "The Yeast Syndrome" by John Parks Trowbridge, both ezcema and diaper rash are results of a yeast (candida albicans) infestation.
Introduce plain, unsweetened yogurt to your babe's diet (slowly as it does not taste that good even to adults), by mixing it with other things.
This is also the same fungus that results in jock itch, athlete's foot, thrush (white tongue), vaginitis (in women), ringworm and other skin rashes. It is the Candida Albicans fungus (yeast).
For basic information on the systemic yeast syndrome, check out the link on the Welcome page of www.hufa.org.
