are trans fat bad for you? What do they do to you? Should you avoid them at all costs.

Trans fat are indeed bad for you. They raise your bad cholesterol and clog your arteries. They've recently come under a lot of attention because a few european countries have recently banned them.

It seems a lot of American snack companies are also removing the trans-fat from their products. However, fast food joints are still using it, particularly those who serve french fries. Some servings can contain at least 10 grams of the artery cloggers.

I try to avoid them. If a product has a 1 gram or two of it, I wouldn't freak out over it, but I'd certainly pick a different product if it had zero-trans fat.

For optimum health, you really want to keep trans fat (which is a man-made fat and therefore not found in nature) to a minimum.

Yes..very bad. They increase bad cholesterol and yes..avoid them.
