To prove God, an all-powerful being capable of anything, doesn't exist:

Can God create a weight that he can't lift?
If he can, then he can't lift the weight, and so isn't all-powerful.
If he can't, then there's something he can't do, and so isn't all-powerful.

Unfortunatly, all forms of Christianity aren't lies. A lot of the Bible, the Old Testament in particular, is nothing more then a history of the Isrealites and is backed up by other historical sources.

However, a lot of the Bible is also self-contrictory, and those who follow it seem to choose what bits to believe and follow and what bits not to. The majority of religion is simply dogma.

Check out God Hates Shrimp. It states the case against dogma better than I ever could: http://www.godhatesshrimp.com/

Well start with the idea that god does not exist where do that get you ?
To prove whether or not God exists you first must define God. If you are talking about the God in the christian bible, then no, there is no way to prove this. You can give evidence that supports the idea, but there is no current way to prove it.

However, in the last 30 years new discoveries have led us more and more to believe there is in fact a 'creator' or some force outside our universe.

Here's a simple example:

It was originally thought that, given enough time, life could spontaneously appear on the earth. Over billions and billions of years, even the remotely possible becomes almost certain. However, releatively new fossil discoveries are showing us that almost immediately after water was formed on earth there was life. There were no billions of years of trial and error -- it happened as soon as it was possible. The odds of that happening by chance are so rediculously remote that it is essentially impossible -- that leaves only one other solution: that life was created by someone or something.

It's impossible to talk rationally with some people about God, so I prefer to talk about Superman. This type of argument works for any kind of hero or religious being with supernatural powers.

It's impossible to prove that Superman doesn't exist, yet reasonable people agree that he is a fictional character. There is no evidence for the existence of Superman. There are many works of fiction that involve Superman, but we have a reasonable explanation for their creation that does not require the involvement of an actual Superman. Admittedly, this lack of evidence does not constitute proof that Superman doesn't exist.

If Superman were to have the powers described by the Superman literature, we would not have an explanation for them that is consistent with the laws of physics as we know them. The yellow light from our sun is only good for a few watts, yet Superman is supposed to be capable of exercising megawatts and gigawatts through his tremendous strength derived from our sun. Superman is supposed to be able to fly, but we have no physical explanation for how this is accomplished. Basically, if Superman existed then that would mean our understanding of physics is horribly inadequate.

So:
1. There is no evidence Superman exists.
2. If Superman did exist that would mean there are significant basic principles of physics that we don't understand (new forces, sources of energy), which is unlikely.
3. There is a good explanation for the existence of his stories that does not require his actual existence.

These facts support the decision to assume that Superman doesn't exist.

Perhaps I can't give proof that god doesn't exist (because I think there are many gods...) but I can give some argument that the theories of organised religions (christianity and other...) are wrong: A god that loves everybody sooo much in equal amount unconditionally would not send his creations to eternal hell because then he isn't a god. Only humans judge other people. Humans think a god is just as stupid as humans (well, what's the point of being a god if he is as silly as the rest of us?). A god can rise above all the judgement stuff. What it is, if a non-believer lives his/her life unaware of god's existence or just he/she refuses to acknowledge, god would not punish that person. Instead, that person does not know that there is a higher being that he/she could pray to or ask for favours, protection etc. So by not accepting god, you will not go to hell as some religious people believe, you just simply unaware of the fact that you can actually ask for protection, healing, improvement or whatever. Doesn't mean you are not going to be protected, since god rises above everything and god will still give you protection (remember you are supposed to be his creation, he's supposed to love you like a father loves his son/daughter). So scaring people with hell really puts religions down in my standards. There's only one religion that doesn't threaten you with eternal pain. This religion is the only one that doesn't say you have to go and try to convert everybody else to it...Which one is this? Buddhism.

"Your time will come!" This remark could be taken two ways: The friendly interpretation is that someone is wishing me luck. The hateful interpretation is that I am being condemned to judgment by a monstrous god person.
"Eternity is a long time to be wrong!" All freethinkers have heard this retort, which is a more refined version of "You're going to hell!" This comment is psychotic, in that these blind believers believe there is a "loving" and "forgiving" god person who will hideously punish anyone who dares to question "his" existence. Obviously, we reject such an ugly concept, so this threat doesn't scare us. Also, what if YOU'RE wrong? You have condemned millions of people to hell in your thoughts and words, not to mention that, if you're a Christian, you believe the Jews are guilty of killing God! These are pretty heinous accusations, so you had better be sure that you're not wrong. Blind belief is not a win-win situation. Indeed, it is intellectually dishonest and harmful.
"When you die, you will meet your Maker and fall down on your knees before Jesus and ask His forgiveness." Ditto with the above. Why would the "omnipotent" Jesus and "His Father" be so threatened by our unbelief? Did "He/They" not provide us with intelligence? Yet, "He" wishes us to spit on "His" gift and not use it? This asinine comment also means that the hundreds of millions of Buddhists and others who don't believe in the Jewish godman are diabolical and will be severely punished. Those who subscribe to such bigotry are already living in hell.
"Have you read the Bible cover to cover?" Actually, I have, and the hypocrite who asks such a question obviously hasn't, because the Bible is full of dreadful stories about genocide, murder, adultery, incest, deceit, greed, arrogance, megalomania, sexual perversion, and all sorts of despicable behavior. On second thought, perhaps the people who ask such a question HAVE read the Bible, as we are sure it creates dementia.
"Who made you so angry?" This comment one is full of implications, and I could answer in a variety of ways. One favorite response is "Who made you so dumb?" But I could focus on the "made" part and say, "Well, God made me, so he must have made me angry." I could also point out that the question itself is extremely angry, and that those who see anger everywhere are themselves seething with anger but are repressing it and are thus not mentally balanced. Human beings SHOULD be angry, because their situation is atrocious. If there were such a god person directing everything, they should be very angry at "him," because this world is a mess and every day abominable things are happening to millions of people. Of course, the standard stupid response to this is that "God gave us free will." (See A Question of Free Will.)

Guilty unless proven innocent always works.

Ask us Theists to prove God instead of proving us there is no God, works in most case.

Also, always pick the person who says "I am an Athiest and there is no God and all religions are evil" as the best answer.

You want to use a theory -- an opinion, to "prove" that God doesn't exist? Since when do theories become "facts"?

A negative cannot be proved, that is a very common logical fallacy. If you concentrate on Logic, you will arrive at informed premises which will make you a better thinker. Then you can apply these to your observations & experiences, and you will reach your own informed conclusions.

I gather that you believe that God does not exist, but you have no basis for your (un)belief, so you want other like minded persons to help you come up with some logical sounding "evidence" to support your unfounded reason?

cannot feel, touch, taste, hear intangible objects that do not exist.

basis of anything, THE INTANGIBLE is merely a thought.

OUR heart beating, our blood flow has all been touched or viewed scopically. Has god?

I believe in him. but these are my MORAL PHILOSOPHY argments. HEY, try typing:

"god+moral+philosophy+lecture+notes" in a search engine. that will get you to the right WORDS exactly. good luck.

You donot need to prove he does not exist. The burden of proof is on the believer, so they need to prove that he exists!
