it is known that water evaporation and hence sweat evaporation decreases when humidity is increased, knowing that sweat evaporation is the only means of heat dissipation when the temperature of the surroundings exceeds that of the skin, the human body should sweat more profusely when put in a humid environment; so as to lose heat. i would imagine, for example, that a person would sweat say 3 times more in a humid weather than in a dry one; as the rate of evaporation in a humid weather is lower than that of a dry one. please provide me with proper references along with a convincing answer, i hope i hadn't asked for too much lol

"Useless advice", "Dr M" and "common sense" are all correct. In humid wheather, sweat will not evaporate as much and so can't cool you off as effectively as it would in dry whether. Your body tries to compensate for this by producing more sweat.

I don't know if a person sweats more in humid weather, but I am positive that a person feels more sweaty in humid weather, because the sweat doesn't evaporate so easily. So it may seem I sweat more when it's humid, even though the actual quantity _may_ be the same (I am not at all sure it is the same, what you quote makes sense, although I would imagine the difference is a lot less then three times).

I don't know if humidity is the only limiting factor. I would guess how much water the person drinks, and what temperature are the things that s/he eats/drinks, that also influence the amount of sweat, though.

You are probably correct..
Your sweat has less of an evaporative cooling effect in more humid
weather so you are hotter and sweat more than at the
same temperature in dry weather..

We sweat more in humid weather. In dry air our sweat cools us faster and hence we don't need to sweat as much. In humid air our sweating response never gets turned off as the sweat can't evaporated to lower our skin temperature.

Water molecules are much more dense than dry wheater so the heat that affects human body is increased, your body sweats to reach the homeostatis. In dry weather, air molecules do not hold much heat thats why the heat felt is much less than in humid weather, the body do not sweat that much and the sweat quickly evaporates and cools the body, homeostatis is achieved in optimum performance.

Oh course you sweat more in humidity. Ever been in a sauna? I have lived all over the world and...trust me on this. Plus, what you're forgetting is that humidity raises how we feel temp. I live in Texas and it's common for people to ignore temp and look for the "heat Index" which is what the temp FEELS like because of the humidity. If the temp in say California (dry) is 100 degrees F that same 100 degrees in Texas will "feel like" 105 or maybe even 110 degrees to our bodies. Hope that helps...

Your body will sweat until it has its temperature regulated enough. Now, in a dry area, like a desert, you won't feel sweaty, but you sweat alot, it just evaporates quickly. In a muggy,humid area, like woods or forest, you feel sweaty cause it doesn't evaporate. But the whole point of sweating is to dissipate body heat.
So, when your body's system thinks it has dissipated enough heat, it will stop sweating. How long this takes depends on the environment's ability to absorb the heat radiated from your body.

1st order effects. We sweat almost same.. But we dry quickly in dry weather so one doesn't feel sweating. In humid weather it takes longer to dry so you notice.

2Nd order effects. In dry weather since it evaporate quickly the body gets cooled quickly. Due to this effect the perspiration will get reduced. The humid weather the colling effect is reduced

I don't know where you're getting your information, but based on my own experience, you sweat just as much, if not more, when it's humid. I'm reasonably sure it's a function of heat and not humidity. When the body needs to cool down, it sweats.... regardless of how much moisture is in the air.

When the air is 100% humid, you sweat can't evaporate. It feels horrible.
In dry air you sweat strongly and it evaporates very fast, so you do not feel it. Then you need to drink very much!

Although Alex and Bob are in different locations, you have mentioned that temperature in the exterior is identical in both locations even if Alex is in a hot desert and Bob in a rainforest I assume both the locations are experiencing a winter season so no heat to impact it and it can be night time at both locations so again a significant dip in temperature also as u mentioned both have brought a cooler with no ice, just ice packs and one beer temperature of both coolers are identical then the answer to your following q's are 1) Which beer will sweat more? NoneTemperature in the exterior is identical in both locations. 2) Which beer will sweat faster? Both wud be Identical in sweating 3) Which beer will lose heat faster? Identical manner Plus I feel the ice packs will sweat more then the beers as how much chilled can one beer want to be when its cold climate! Only as much cold is what will be required to make it drinkable to enjoy!
