It depends on what you are talking about. The earth has natural cycles where it warms and cools.

However, we are currently at an unprecedented rate of heating. The heating we have observed in the past 10 years is equal to the heating that has occured in the past over hundreds or thousands of years. This is certainly caused by humans.

Natural warming of the Earth happens so slowly that ecosystems have time to adapt to the changing conditions. Animals, plants, etc. all change in order to survive. However, at the current rate of warming, evolution will not have enough time to allow ecosystems to adapt to higher temperatures. This is where the real problem is.

We do not know exactly how the Earth will react to this rapid heating. It will be decades before we really see the consequences since ecosystems take time to reflect change. However, we do know that things will be off balance and there is a good possibility that the speed at which this change has occured will cause large amounts of damage.

This is why we should slow down global warming. The results of global warming will not be known to us for decades. However, if these changes severely damage the ecosystem, by the time we realize it, it will already be too late. This is due to the fact that the effects are delayed. Thus if we choose to stop when we notice it, there are decades more left of damaging effects.

We must slow down global warming for the good of future civilization.

Global warming is bad for us because the hotter the earth becomes, the more quickly the Polar Ice would start melting. Increased rate of melting down of the icy regions would raise up the current sea level by several metres and this would submerge the towns and cities located at sea level and particularly those at the coastline all over the world.

Already we have the problem of increasing growth rate of population. With sea levels rising, available land will further reduce and this could lead to shortage of habitable land on earth !!!

Hence, slowing down global warming would definitely be good in the interest of mankind !

Good! Like 20 minutes ago was the world jump day, an experiment in where 600 000 000 people jumped at the same time to try to slow global warming.

If you think global warming will prevent the next ice age, then I guess global warming is good. Keep in mind; nothing lasts forever. The ice age will end and you'll bake for the next thousand yrs until the next ice age. Sooner or later, the Earth will not be able to support life (later by natural causes; sooner by human causes). Extinction is a very natural thing.

global warming should be stopped... slowing down will only push the inevitable if its not stopped.
