Archer, it depends on what you want. Performance upgrades or stereo upgrades are your best bet for $500. I would have said lift kit and tires, but you're right - $500 won't get very far in that area. You should be able to get the cold air intake and a throttle body spacer to increase power installed for less than $500. You could also look into a sub and amp for your stereo. There are trail upgrades you could buy, but they aren't as useful without the lift/tires. Good luck!

New larger tires on stock rims. A stock TJ wrangler can fit 31's stock on stock rims. Then go have some fun in it. Actually take it out and wheel it. It doesn't matter if it's dirt, mud, rocks, or sand. You will be completely hooked! Check out www.jeepsunlimited.com/forums for more info.

This is easy,
Get a Winch installed.
For a jeep this is the most helpful aftermarket add on you can have.
It will not effect your warranty, as some of the other mod's will.

Start paying off your loan. If you don't know what to spend your money on, don't let other people make that decision for you. Unless of course you hate money. By the way, congratulations on your new Jeep.

Tow hitch and one of those nifty pulleys. You know, so you can pull your friend's truck out of the mud when he gets stuck.
