Read & study hard. Ask questions.
For improved comprehension & to study for a test first read the material & high light the important points. Next read just the high-lighted parts. I found that I could remember more if I also got together with a small study group & prepared questions that I thought the professors/teachers might ask. It just helped me focus & remember better when I was playing "teacher".
Years later, I used that same tutoring method to teach my grade school children to quizz each other with flash cards, chanting mutiplication tables while jumping rope, bouncing a ball, or playing catch. It made learning fun & the rhythmic activity helps us remember lists of things.

It's important to use as many modes of learning as you can; hearing, reading, writing, repetition. I found that I could remember lists of things better if I could first organize the items on index cards & then say out loud the list of items in a catchy song while rocking in a chair or sweeping the floor. This helps concentrate all your energy into the learning task.

The important thing is to try to focus better because it's easy to get distracted. I find that I can read faster if I keep down noise & turn off the TV. You'll find that the more you concentrate on what you read, the better & faster you'll comprehend.

There are many ways to improve your learning ability. Boost your interest because this is the only key to give your full capacity. Try to develop motivation because this will keep you working in spite of difficulties and hindrances. Do your best and always realize that you have to pay for the price it costs after all it is you who will gain. Read books and apply them to your life feeling that it is such an enjoyment. Listen to the others' advices and whatever criticism they would give just accept it and think that it is for your improvement. Learn to socialize with different kinds of people for learning from others is greater than learning with the books. Remember that iron can only be sharpen by an iron also just like man is being sharpened by his fellow. And lastly be open to all opportunities that would challenge you to strengthen your ability.

Uhhh, I guess you want study tips?
Learn to speed read.
Manage your time well (way easier said than done).
Review what you learned in class every night, just for a few minutes. It really helps embed the info into your mind.
Try to get 8-10 hours of sleep per night.
Eat breakfast (yeah, it really helps)
If all else fails, go to a specialist and get tested for ADD and other learning disabilities.
Try a product called "Brainquicken"... It seems to actually work for me. (The free trial isnt a scam)

Also, know what you are go at:
'doing'
'visual'

such as if you are visual person, then when you study you may want to draw out relationships of theory, etc.
