Lumbar MRI results showed that I do have a bulging disk in my lower back. Dr.'s have ruled out sciatica and neuropathy. I am wondering if the source of my pain is my back or my feet. I have had a lumbar block and it temporarily stopped my pain but now it is back again.

Well, in fact you can get rid of the problem that might lie in your neck - believe it or not:

Go for a manual one-time treatment called Atlasprofilax. The spine is set straight, and the pressure on the discs is distributed much better so they can recover in some time.

And it's really worth travelling far - at present, the treatment is available in California and Europe, costing around 200 Dollars. Good luck!

My boyfriend also has your problem. But unlike a woman, he doesn't wear complicated shoes. There's a great brand of shoe out there, I think they are called Earthshoe or something like that. I see them a lot at Wal-mart. They'll help with your feet and they have good styles. Don't buy arched shoes, either. Maybe you'd benefit from some soft flip-flops?

Another thing, at night when you sleep, try laying more in the fetal position with your neck curved forward towards your chest, and your back curved as well, with your knees brought up. Put a pillow between your legs to relieve discomfort in your lower back. If you sleep on your stomach, try laying without a pillow and spread your legs so that your knees are slightly bent outward. That helps with the pressure on your lower back, or the lumbar region.

And if it will help, when you wake up in the morning, try stretching by first curving your neck towards your chest and keeping it in that position, and then slowly roll your body inward going down as far as you can with your arms hanging loose.

Also, whenever you're sitting down at home, perhaps in a computer chair, make sure your bottom is cushioned by a soft pillow and your back is comfortably supported by the back of the chair. You can put a pillow on the back of your chair behind your lower back as well.

These are just some tips to help with the pain, and they're not too complicated. I hope your pain gets better!

It definitely sounds like Plantar Fascitis even though the site of your pain may not be typical of the condition. It would be best to get a proper diagnosis, as if it is PF, it will not go away on it's own. The pain can get worse. Go see your doc before your holiday. Steroid injections into the heel really help.

Sounds like you now have problems coming from both back and feet. You would benefit from arch supports and exercise like Pilates to improve posture and strengthen core muscles.

See a podiatrist, he will assess the condition of you feet and possibly organise insoles to suit . The result should be positive.
