Is the UN going to send troops to Lebanon to stop the war? (If so, how?) or they already sent troops there? (then what are they doing there?)
If the UN have not sent any troops there yet, what are they going to do?

If the UN will send troops to Lebanon this will be in order to make some people richer (the UN troops) and some others poorer (Lebanese).

As to the course of the war, this, like all other world issues, shall be decided by the USA and Israel together.

There are UN troops in Lebanon. At present they are just taking cover like everyone else. They are too small a force to force Hezbollah to disarm. It would be a good thing if there was a robust force there, but no country is lining up to send their soldiers in harms way there. The Muslim countries won't send their troops to potentially kill Hezbollah fighters, but if non-Muslim troops disarmed Hezbollah that would make the Muslims even angrier.

UN wanna do alot of things to help out the poor civilians at Lebanon, but as long as US had veto power, UN will only be able to watch and pray that sanity will prevail in the end.

Remember Iraq? US don't held UN in high regards that time and they are not going to this time either. They practically police the world as they see fit since the collapse of USSR.

There is not a real position of the UN yet, because some support Lebanon and others Israel.

The more important question is - What is the UN going to do about anything.

Would make more sense if they just shut down and saves the world some money. Although without the UN, the world would have no forum to complain to whenever Israel defends herself.

The important question is: WHEN is the UN going to do anything ever? This organization has became as lame and insignificant as the Arab league. Of course they will do nothing!
