It's called a classy drug cos the high profile use of it is by the rich (supposedly) classy people. Think Kate Moss the supermodel and her (alleged) cocaine use. It really is expensive so the everage Jo can't really afford to take it (the hit lasts only 15 minutes or so and you can't afford to have 20 or so hits on a night out if thats gonna cost you hundreds, perhaps even more.

I run a recruitment business in the city centre, some of my staff use cocaine on Friday evenings.
They all think its really cool, well i used to do it a few years ago till i got a life, it was my birthday and i thought well "fook" it, i will have a line.... NOTHING happened, they said it was "good stuff" £40 a gram, what a load of rubbish,
In summary... all they are getting off on is their egos.
If you want a buzz, take your £40 and put it on a horse! the adrenaline will set you right off, i promise.

Simply because of the price, its a ego thing. They all wanna look good (or thats how they think they look anyway). Your right no drugs are good. Been there done that, and i thank god i got out. The worst thing about it though, is that others have a long memory, and are not quite so willing to leave the past behind. that old term "Mud Sticks!" comes to mind xxx

The reason is that when cocaine became widespread, it was the drug of choice for up-scale white collar workers and many celebrities. It was the "class of people" that gave it this description.

Once upon a time it was only the rich and famous that could afford it, but I fail to see what is classy about a runny nose and a mouth in overdrive.

coz it more expensive and mostly only accessible to the higher class of people who can afford it and depending on where your getting it from a lot cleaner than other drugs like speed and extacy

No, it's not 'classy', it's Class A, which is the most 'serious' category.
