Urdu derives strongly from Persian and has harsher and complicated tones with significant Mughal influence but Hindi is derived from Devanagari Script which is the language of people and is more simpler in conversation. however, Urdu as conversational language has good cultural and literary influence

they are quite different
Urdu has words from persian and arabic
and Hindi doesnt
and also some hindi words are different than urdu.
