Running a business is more expensive in some areas than in others. Consider the type of businesses that hire illegals. Not large corporations, it's small businesses (restaurants, small construction-landscaping co's, companies with less than 30 employees). Illegals didn't build these small businesses, however small businesses and their owners, built America. I agree, illegals have to go, but we can't allow small businesses to go out of business in great numbers. Take LA, millions of small businesses, millions of illegals. Look at how difficult the State of California makes owning a business w/ employees. It's almost not worth it, high taxes, high insurance, workman's comp benefits alone deter many from wanting to hire a worker. Hiring illegals is one way to side step some costs.
Business laws need to change in CA and elsewhere, they should encourage people to start new businesses, pay legal workers fair wages, be able to turn a profit and grow the company = creating more jobs.

If the city/state/fed gov ease back on some small business laws and small businesses still need to cut corners illegally, then ya maybe they don't know how to run a successful business. Many small business located throughout the US, employ only legal workers and remain successful.
