There is no real answer to this question but what I have learned of what love is to me and that is the word LOVE itself holds the answer.......

(L)isten: and validate them by hearing and empathizing.
(O)verlook: their minor character flaws as they will overlook yours.
(V)alue: who they are and what they mean to you.
(E)xpress: how you love them not just with words but with actions.

Lets just say this guy that asked you for your unconditional love has something behind it. It could be really bad or it could be acceptable. I just know I could never accept unconditional love. Real love is already hard and inflictive as it is. Now unconditional love would not be something you want in your life. He could be saying he has a major problem but wants to make sure you love him regardless. He could have AIDS he could be infertile. I mean I just don't like the word unconditional love when it comes to couples that's all.

People say they 'find' love, as if it were an object hidden by a rock. But love takes many forms, and it is never the same for any man and woman. What people find then is a certain love.

Love, like rain, can nourish from above, drenching couples with a soaking joy. But sometimes, under the angry heat of life, love dries on the surface and must nourish from below, tending to its roots, keeping itself alive.

Lost love is still love. It takes a different form, that's all. You can't see their smile or bring them food or tousle their hair or move them around a dance floor. But when those senses weaken, another heightens. Memory. Memory becomes your partner. You nurture it. You hold it. You dance with it.

Unconditional love is an ideal. It is constant love that is independent of reciprocal behavior. That is impossible for humans.
Love on our level, human to human, requires give and take. I love; I get loved back, which helps me to love more, and get love back, and on and on. Just keep in mind that some people are more easier to love than others.

unconditional love is when u find real love, and the person loves you for who or what u are, the person dose not care if you are beautiful or not, you are handsome or not, you are rich or not, he or she loves you for who you are, he dosn'st care the way you look, all he has for you is pure unconditional love and that all.

remember if you are a lady, to love is nothing, to be loved is something and to love and be loved is everthing.
take care.

Unconditional ove is love without any conditions-not even that the person you love should love you back.If they do love you then you are lucky if not it's nobody's fault. And you don't stop loving them just because they didnt love you back. You still love them no matter what. That is unconditional love.

The world as a whole has forgotten the real meaning of the word love. Love has been so abused and crucified by man that very few people know what true love is. Just as oil is present in every part of the olive, so love permeates every part of creation. But to define love is very difficult, for the same reason that words cannot fully describe the flavor of an orange. You have to taste the fruit to know its flavor. So with love.

In the universal sense, love is the divine power of attraction in creation that harmonizes, unites, binds together....Those who live in tune with the attractive force of love achieve harmony with nature and their fellow beings, and are attracted to blissful reunion with God.

"Ordinary love is selfish, darkly rooted in desires and satisfactions," [Sri Yukteswar said]. "Divine love is without condition, without boundary, without change. The flux of the human heart is gone forever at the transfixing touch of pure love."

Many human beings say "I love you" one day and reject you the next. That is not love. One whose heart is filled with the love of God cannot willfully hurt anyone. When you love God without reservation, He fills your heart with His unconditional love for all. That love no human tongue can describe....The ordinary man is incapable of loving others in this way. Self-centered in the consciousness of "I, me, and mine," he has not yet discovered the omnipresent God who resides in him and in all other beings.

To me there is no difference between one person and another; I behold all as soul-reflections of the one God. I can't think of anyone as a stranger, for I know that we are all part of the One Spirit. When you experience the true meaning of religion, which is to know God, you will realize that He is your Self, and that He exists equally and impartially in all beings. Then you will be able to love others as your own Self

When you CAN'T put additional word to this phrase "I love you because . . . . "

That's unconditional love.
