Read the story of Lazarus: John Ch 11.

It is obvious that Jesus cared about Lazarus profoundly.
Lazarus' sisters - who Jesus also "loved" - however describe their brother to Jesus as _the_one_ that you love.

If Lazarus had been female, how would you read the passage?
Why not read the passage in the same way with Lazarus being male?

There is nothing to suggest that Jesus and Lazarus ever "had sex", of course.

My father profoundly loved the friends he went into battle with During the Vietnam war. He and two of his close friends remained close until his death 2 years ago. These guys used to say they would take a bullet for each other, and they were not joking. Perhaps you need to review types of love. Not all kinds of love have sexual connotations. I love my diamond earrings, but I do not want to have sex with them. To go further, Jesus cried when he found out that Lazarus died. I suppose that a person could interpret this to mean something it does not.

The gospels were originally written in Greek, a language which had several words which we translate as "love", but all of which have a slightly different meaning:

agape - a love embodied by self-sacrifice in the interest of others
eros - sexual love
phileo - "brotherly" love or deep friendship

It's the last one of these that appears in the John 11 passage you mention.

Not that Lazarus WAS Jesus' best friend, I wouldn't know, but as an example, it's not wrong to say that you 'love' your best friend!

Love is an expression of deep caring and does not always or necessarily mean in a relationship kind of way. I love my brothers sisters and family etc.

It's a great word to use for a great friendship.

Do you love your daddy? and mummy?Foolishness is wisdom to fools. This is a perverse generation indeed!! So if itell you that I love U,then I must have slept with you.The essence of relationship is intercourse, not sexual intercourse.JESUSloves you ,even now,He desires to have intercourse with you.He is the Bridesgroom, we are His bride. It is a fellowship, communion.
by the way , are you a gay?Why do reduceYour saviour to such a ridicule? That is wickedness. That is the spirit of anti-christ!!!!!!

Remember that words can hold more than one meaning, love has different levels to it (sister, lover, friend, ect.), and that Jesus loved everyone.

All love is not sexual, contrary to popular belief. You can actually love a friend like a brother.
