Been in 14 years...can't complain much! Hard work, good times, bad times, sacrifices, honor, laughs, tears...Same as anyone else. I appreciate the military and what it's done for me. I look forward to the rest of my career! (Been active duty the whole time. Just my opinion, but if you're gonna go military, I'd suggest active duty...just go all the way. Don't bother going half way with the reserves or guard, and don't let those around you change your attitude when and if you join, because you will be surrounded by people who have joined and for one reason or another begin to believe the military isn't good enough for them) No experience with Infantry or Ranger school, but one thing is for sure, you have to know how to swim well to be a Ranger! Don't forget the Air Force. If you think you're good enough to be a Ranger, the Force has similar positions, (Para-rescue) and the quality of life is better in the Air Force for the most part.

For the most part, good. In the beginning (Basic, AIT) it can be highly restrictive. Then after a while, you get cut loose and you can live alil more normally. You still make sacrifices of course. You learn to do without many things that most Americans would be appalled to give up. It's an experience you will respect after you have left the Army even more. I'm glad that I join the Army, I'm not a lil whiney pussy like I was before.
Plus, you never have to worry about food. It's great, good for you and there's plenty of it.
I really think there is no other experience like it. Many of my friends ask me about what I learned and I could go on for days, but the most important things you learn are about mindset, willpower, and how you think of things. I don't think you can learn these skills anywhere else but the military.

Hey man. Check this out. Ive been in for the past 6yrs & life isnt too shabby. Yeah, you deploy, buts thats to be expected. Yes there are times where life will flat out suck. But in the end, to me, its worth it. Ive been through some pretty shitty times & I wouldnt trade them in for anything. I love what I do.
If you have any questions, pls drop a line on messanger.

Ever think of the Air Force? We have a higher quality of life then the other branches and we actually care about our people.

If you go enlisted, you do as you are told. You cant go no where without permission. If you like and need direction enlisted would be good for you. If you like to make decisions and give orders go officer.
