Damn, deleted my first comment, try again, lol
We all have two sets of parents and some even more (step parents)
I have had a step father, two fathers and two mothers

My biological parents didn't know how to be parents (best way of putting it) but never did I feel as if was an orphan or shut out because I had my other parents, God and Mother Earth. I have always felt the love from these parents and it is these parents I have with me now-
I love my father and I love my mother with all my heart.
What can I do to show I appreciate what they've done for me?
They KNOW!

I have grown up to respect my mother (my only surviving parent) and elders, work hard, stay on the right side of the law. I have also developed a relationship with my mother where we are not only mother and daughter but friends as well. We talk about everything and we are always there for each other. In times of trouble her help her as best I can because I know that is what she would do for me and my sister.

Parents do not expect any word or deed of appreciation as they are just doing the duty assigned to them. Your appreciation comes in looking after them during the need of the hour, be obedient and respectable to them and not offending them in the name of " generation has changed and you do not know all these"
Its your treatment to them that will elicit a feeling of appreciation to what they have done for you!!!

I don't think they expect much appreciation from you, but if you do, they must get really glad. I don't think the big time show is what you need to do, but small things like making a very nice dinner and invite them over.

Appreciation is shown simply by doing the right things, being a good person they can be proud of and being happy gives them the satisfaction of succeeding as parents.....

One thing that they've been really proud of me was that I went job hunting and going for interviews. Basically the fact that i'm willing to get a job on my own. I have a bro (30), a sis (27) and i'm 16. And this is my first time going for a job and they said to me that they're really happy for me that I want to get a job even though they give me allowance and they raised my allowance and the fact that i'm the youngest one in the family its "touching" for them to see that i've grown up!! lol, im serious they said this to me

We can show them how much we love them in many ways...
- be a good kid
- help with the chores @ home
- cook them a meal
etc....

Most importantly if you speak their love language then it'll work better. Each of us are loved in 5 ways but we only have 1 love primary love language. Go check out my source.

Certainly you should if they have done a lot of positive things for you, especially if they have raised you to be a good, responsible person. That means they did their job and they deserve to be rewarded in some way.
