Are you dealing with this drug personally? What is it doing to you ? I am not only talking about being the addict, but also the family or friend watching the addict destroy themselves.

I just had a 3 hour conversation with a (let's say) close associate. I want to hear all sides!

meth is VERY bad...i used for about Id say 3 years & in that time my life did nothin but go downhill.....I tried a couple times to just lay off & stay away from the people who were on it but it didnt work, they wouldnt stay away. Id tell em I wanted to stop & they;d say how great that was but as soon as they were high again theyd come around & next thing you knew I was back where I started.....I scares me today to think about how I was living.....I always said that Id never be like those people, the ones all paranoid & agitated, not sleeping for days on end, using everyday...always thougth I was fine till one day it hit me like a ******* mack truck, i WAS like them, I WAS an addict....I ended up gettin in a spot of trouble & finally got myself outta there & havent used in 2 years as of this August...Im fatter now but a lot healthier & happier. Meth is bad. Physically, Mentally, Emotionally, Legally, Socially, its just bad......wish I didnt know this but I do.

We have a family friend (I'll call him John) that my dad has known for his whole life. He was very addicted to meth. As hardcore as you could be. His teeth were starting to go bad, hands screwed up, personality fading, and much much more. One of the people John was dealing with got caught by the cops and snitched on him. He was not very happy at the time, but if that had never happened they say he would've died within weeks. He went to jail for three years, recovering and writing to family the whole time, and now he's back into the world with a new outlook on life. He visits programs every week that make sure he's still off the habit, and he has all of our support. You don't even know how proud and grateful we are to have the old, fun-loving John back today.

Having never tried anything but Marijuana... I can't really say from experience...

But I watched a friend crash his motor-cycle into the front end of a MACK truck when he went the wrong way down a one-way street. We Burried his Helmet with him... Not like it would have saved his life if he had been wearing it anyway. That was a pretty big reason for me to not try meth, since he was high on 3 points of the sh!t at the time.

Yes, I have two friends who have become addicted to it. I saw one of them for the first time in a couple of months and it shocked me completely, they looked so different. I think about them all the time and hope they will be stronger.
