Reason for the turning back is that, while the coffin is being moved or buried, the Spirits and the energy given out during that moment is stronger then normal timing.

People afraid of being get harm or hurt by the energy will need to turn away (not to let the negative energy entered to our soul, mind and body directly from our forehead and all the eyes, nose, mouth, ears, etc).

If you have neglected that during the funeral, now that's a few ways to help you cleared the worries.

Throwing to get 7 colours flower (without white), add a tea-spoon of salt into your showering water, shower yourself with all that. Get a cup of plain water, present the water to the Deities that you believed in, pray to them and tell them what your worries and request for their protection, after that, drink the cup of water sincerely infront of the Deities, step backward 3 steps and silently go to bed without any thinking and worries.

Next, try to visit any Spiritual Buildings like temples, church, etc on the Holy days (chinese is Chu Yi Shi Wu, chrisitian is friday or sunday, etc). During the visit, worship the Deities in the temple with sincerity and say out your worries and request. after the whole process, go round the Spiritual Building one round and leave the place silently without turning back. Enjoy yurself on that day.

All your bad lucks will be thrown away. :P

All the best.

If U really believing in stuff like this one...

At the moment... I would suggest U visit the grave again... And pray to the death... Say something to the grave that U are innocent... and ask he/she to protect U from harm...

Buy a whole chicken (cooked) and some joss paper when U went there to pray...

Another question????

When the coffin was lowered... Where will U standing... in front of or behind the SUN???

I'm Chinese Singaporean... Yes... Some old people believe that they must respect the death... By turning their back when the coffin was lowered... Don't worry too much... there is nothing wrong for what U did....

This is mind over matter my friend. You are simply giving yourself bad karma by believing you are bound to be unlucky and so you're attracting negative energy. Think about it-everywhere else in the world we do not turn our backs to the coffin, that is seen as disrespect. So relax and don't worry about it. When I was younger I had bad luck after I broke a mirror and was told I would have seven years bad luck but once I stopped believing in that -my luck changed for the better. So it's all about the power of suggestion. But if it makes you feel better -next time-when in Rome do as the Romans do! :-)

The reason of why everybody turned his/her back to the coffin is :

There is a saying that the soul is still around and watching the ceremony there and it is painful for the soul to say goodbye to the love ones and he/she would not be willing to start the journey to another world (heaven??)

To turn away and not looking at the coffin means we have to say goodbye without letting the soul know we miss him / her that much and persuade both parties to let go the sorrows.

Facing to another direction of your past also means to start a new life and be positive.

In my point of view, your worries about your bad luck has no ground at all.

No one can help you except yourself about your luck!

I am a Chinese. There was a saying that you should look away. Not just that, you may also notice that beside those who dig the soil, most family and friends will move away, to ensure that your shadow does not touch the coffin. The Chinese believe that your spirit will be trap.

Is that true? Yes and no.

This world was given to Satan the moment Adam disobey God. Since the world belongs to Satan, his rule apply. It is possible that the spiritual myth can be true, and thus bring bad luck.

However, as a born again Bible Believer, I also believe that the one inside me (Jesus) is greater than the one that is in the world (Satan). So, the power of darkness cannot touch me.

I have experienced that myself, they (evil spirit) can only frighten me, appear in front of me, but can no longer touch or harm me.

My friend, go to someone who believe in the Bible and Jesus, get help from them.

Stop believing in stuff like luck. The only reason there seems to be "bad luck" following you around is because you've been cued to seeing and remembering unfortunate events in your life. You're probably not any closer to getting hit by cars than you were before, you just think you are and are attributing that to bad luck.

Luck is a state of the mind. If you believe your luck is bad, you'd think everything happening to you is bad. If you believe that your luck is good, then you'd see all that is happening to you is good. Besides, if you through negative vibes to the world, that is what you will get as well. Be positive and see things in a different light! :)

Buy a salt, and throw out some against your front.
Salt is made from tons of sea water. This action mean those tons of water wash bad things away and clean your body up.
This is Japanese habitude though..
