In a world that is full of nasty strangers and people who are not nice to each other, religion serves as a psychological refuge of imaginary love for many people.

Children often spontaneously develop an imaginary friend who they play with and talk to. Such a friend helps these children deal with their anxieties, fears, and difficulties in life.

Adults do it too but in a much more complex and organized way. That's what religion is all about. It helps people deal with their anxieties, fears, and difficulties in life through the power of their imagination.

Every society always has had and still has now some kind of religion. And there is a good reason for it. No society is completely trouble-free. And people often do need to have religious beliefs in order to deal with difficulties in life over which they have no control.

The difference between doing it the natural way through religious beliefs and using drugs is that religion helps people keep their families together and keep their society going. Whereas drugs do the opposite. Drugs destroy families and damage society.

Of course when there is conflict between societies and religious beliefs, then religion gives strength and courage to people to do bad things to each other and not just to continue their families and society.

Religion is a psychological tool that people can use either for good, for bad, or for both. And it depends on the situation, whether a particular religion is doing harm or good.

Praying to God, You are involved actively. When you pray for some problem to be solved, you in turn are not going to be in a passive state. But the next thing is you will definitely attack the problem with a renewed sense .So unlike in addiction to drug where the second stage is passivity , believing in God is definitely not like being addicted to drugs.

NO.......
I depend on God,
I do not deny that I (and every other human being) has some problem,
I do not go to church or pray to get a fix.....what I have is always here within me and never goes away, it is a constant....if you want to call it a high-go ahead- only it is pure and not in any way evil or harmful to me.
I do not mentally escape reality. To do so, would be to be dead.
I do not hallucinate.
There ya go.....

You are partially correct. Belief in God can be very similar
to drugs in that worship and praise and love of God can feel
so good that you want to do it all the time. The difference is
that there are no bad or evil side effects. But be very careful
because a strong belief in God makes you want to help and
bless people less fortunate than you. Stuff like feeding the
hungry, clothing the naked, sheltering the homeless, and
it seems that there is not end to the good you want to do.

Believing in God and not knowing him is not very wise thing. But to say that he does not exist because you do not know him is even more stupid. What you can do without harm is to believe in the possibility that he exist and go on the quest to find out the truth. When your journey will finish you will never be the same.
Just look to the life. What are the probabilities that all this came to be by case?!

God addict are on a constant high.
because he lives in you now, he stopped dwelling in houses built with hands/man. a church is just a communal place of worship, a worship you can also do in your heart, where he lives

a number of what you're saying is real, yet that's not the way you define habit. habit reasons a actual dependence in the guy who's taking the drug and something of the flaws effect from that dependence. The drug reason actual and psychological differences in the guy. concept in God would not reason actual dependence or actual differences.

Your glorifying of drugs is a lie straight from hell and the ole devil. your statements are false and intended to deceive people that do not know the TRUTH.

Are you the false prophet or just a common devil worshiper?
