First of all, this is a TV/ Entertainment question. Second, Reality TV is nothing but entertainment. There is so much bull attached to the show, you know it's rehearsed. Well, not entirely, but, in order for a show to be reviewed and approved for public viewing, it has to adhere to certain guidelines, hence, it has to have some script involved. The show is just that, a show. How come no one ever heard of those cats before? How come you didn't see them at the olympics? How come they can't get a fight after the series ends. Well, I will say this.....One of those guys from last year is probaly going to fight Jermain Taylor (and get killed), purely becuase of the popularity he gained on the show. I think it's the Mora guy, or, maybe it's Peter, Jr. If you want to see real boxing, check out HBO, and, SHOtime on any given Saturday night. As far as non-stop action, Arturo Gatti vs Micky Ward, Hearns vs Hagler, Diego Coralles vs Jesus Luis Castillo, Holyfield vs Qawi, and, Morales vs. Barrera---those were action packed fights. If you get a chance to see them on a replay, greatest fights on ESPN Classic, or, if you really appreciate "the sweet science", order the fights (off of the internet).

I watched the show, but it was very hard to enjoy the boxing segments. As a regular boxing viewer, I can't stand watching clipped fights like what they have on The Contender. The short clips they showed just made me curious as to what happened throughout all the parts they didn't show or during the time they panned to the audience instead of showing the fighters. You might also hear a lot of boxing fans complain about how they add sound effects to the punches so they all sound the same - even the punches that don't really land, lol.
I don't have a pick to win, but a lot of people seem to like Ebo Elder. I'm waiting for the later episodes where they show more actual boxing. :)

I too love the show and watched last season. I haven't picked a fighter that I want to win yet because it is to early and I haven't seen all of them practice yet. I didn't like the way they shortened the fights this time, last season they showed the whole fight not just the excited parts of it. I hope they will go back to doing it the other way.

Ohh, I do! I love it. I watched the last season too. It was really good. I don't know who might win it, though, because it's too early on in the show.
