I will be eligible to apply for an American Citizenship on May 2007 (Yes, it will be five years by then!). The thing is, by May 2007, I will be in Japan studying through a study abroad program (I will start my stay in Japan on January 2007). So, before hitting the 6 month mark, is there a way I can file my Citizenship while overseas? And even if I am allowed to apply while overseas before the 6 month limit, I will then still be in Japan (actually until the end of the year or so), so will my time outside the country WHILE my application is being processed count for the 6 months? Will that make me ineligible? Your answers are greatly appreciated and any additional info that you think I should know is very much welcome!

**Just adding this in case it would help: I would go to Japan and study under Tourist Visa from January to March. Then I will fly back to the USA, process my Student Visa and go back in April to resume my studies and stay LONG TERM in Japan.**

II believe if you have applied for a green card and have or haven't gotten it yet, you are not allowed or not supposed to return to your country of origin. If you do you violate your visa and can be barred from returning. I suggest checking with INS before you go to make sure. And no you can't file it from overseas.

mainland. In Okinawa the locals relatively hate the human beings, and the yank base. SO in case you circulate to Okinawa and your white (despite if no longer american) all people will assume you're. And no person will choose to be your chum or seek advice from you. additionally in Okinawa all the human beings stay on the militia base, so there is not any genuine place to get to fulfill them. In mainland Japan the individuals are frequently slightly greater open. greater human beings you may get to appreciate, plus you ought to continuously circulate to okinawa for a weekend in case you certainly need. you ought to circulate to everywhere in asia from mainland japan, its basically far greater handy.
