Some people are passionate about decreasing crime and violence. They risk their lives, just like our soldiers, to help keep innocent citizens safe. Some people just love the thrill and adrenaline that comes with the job. I don't see why there's anything wrong with that. I want to be a police officer because that's what interests me.

To give back to the community what it has gave to me.....
I work the city PD....But volunteer for the County Fire/Rescue
And no...if you are a deputy there is no job security...if the new Sheriff don't like you....bye bye...

It often pays better than city police, or even highway patrol or state police ( depends on your county and state)
But for the same reason anyone wants to go into law enforcement
