Technically yes - the effects that coffee can have on one's body over the long run, can be detrimental to one's health. Coffee can have many negative side effects (it tightens all of the body's blood vessels), it can lead to high blood pressure etc. In the long run, the side effects can kill you. It can also cause you to become dehydrated, which puts a strain on your kidneys... A point to remember is, it is not simply coffee, it is ALL beverages/food containing caffeine.

That's utter nonsense. If it were true, I'd be dead already lol.

There is not even a connection between cigarettes and coffee, except that in cigs, nicotine acts as a stimulant and in coffee, the caffeine does.

If you take a weight loss supplement that's supposed to "boost your metabolism", guess what you're consuming? It may be ephedra or caffeine free, but there are a bazillion other chemicals that have exactly the same stimulating effect on your system as caffeine or nicotine and depending on what it is, can cause even more damage.

I was at the bodyworlds exhibit in Phila, but I don't remember seing that bit. My take on this is not to worry about a few cups of coffee.. that causes less damage than 5 cans of soda.

Nah....my late grandma drank until she was 83. She was a heavy coffee drinker and she died due to old age, nothing to do with coffee. Too much could deteriorate your health lifestyle in some other ways. Key word is balance to everything.

Technically, yes, it is possible to die from a caffiene overdose, but it would take ALOT of it, I mean A HUGE amount of it to really happen.
The human body can only handle so much caffiene...

Check this site out, it lets you "pick your poison" and lets you know how much you have to drink of it to die... its cool:
