Just like dads are hard on boyfriends, moms are hard on girlfriends. They want their sons to have a woman that's going to do what she does for him.

The stress is a result of the girl wanting so much for his parents to like or approve her. She'll worry about what to say and how to behave in front of them.

Because we're afraid of what your mother thinks. If she hates us, then she'll do what she can to make sure that we don't come around again! We also want to make a good impression!
I think that mom's don't want to see the woman in her son's life become someone besides herself.
