Don't try to convert these people. Be happy in your faith and ignore their intollerance of your faith.
I personally detest "organized" religions, but would never say a disparaging word to someone who feels comforted by them.
It's all a personal choice thing.
Live and Let Live.

You could ask what if you are a Christian/Muslim/any other theist religion and you meet God and you realise that you were in the WRONG religion as he there was only one true one and they are the only ones going to Heaven?
Well, I am not saying I don't believe or I do believe but, seriously, if God is good, he will understand and accept good people. Some religions think God accepts people for being good people, whether they practice a religion or not. So I guess, if there is a God and he is not all-forgiving and everything, I probably wouldn't want to go to Heaven anyway. I'll say, well at least Satan is hispitable.

Instead of wondering what will happen when we die, why don't you live life to the fullest in the here and now. Anyway, If you are right, isn't God supposed to be all forgiving. If he is real, how can he say that it is too late, being God and all. If I am wrong, which I doubt, I will admit it then.

What if you're betting on the wrong god? How will you feel when you know that nothing you say then is going to save you as it will be to late.
Look, religion and the god myth, is a human invention. There are no gods. Grow up and get over it.

scifiguy - Great answer. That is one thing that gets me about almost all religions, that the deity demands to be worshiped.
To answer the original question - I'd hope the way I have lived my life would say it for me.
And what if it was the wrong god and you had wasted all that time praying and worshipping for nothing? It is a risk you take right? I'd rather spend my time living life as good as I can than offering all the credit to god or jesus or whatever.

OK well if I just happen to be wrong one of two thing will happen
1. God will be interested more in whether a person is a good person and moral and I will go to heaven.
2. God will be egotistical and belief in him will be more important and I will go to hell. In which case said God is egotistical and all those criminals who repent and are "saved" will be in heaven. I on the other hand will go to hell, which is ok, because I want no part of someone who is egotistical and ok with child molester, murderers and such.

I guess I'll say 'Fu-ck, was I wrong or what? Sorry God, apologise to Jesus for me, just how hot is it down there?...' (NOT going to happen)
A question to you, what will you do when you realise (after you die, for arguments sake) that there is no afterlife. That you wasted time in church, praying and judging others for their free will?
I have accepted the fact that when I die, I will live on on the hearts and minds of my friends and family, end of story.

i feel sorry for these people, they don't know what they are doing, they don't take eternity serious enough just because it almost impossible to conceptualize, all strong minds acknoledge the existance of God regardless of their religion (if any), Einstein didn't explain the universe as a conincedence for example, he had philosophcal views on creation it's just crystal clear to anyone will a little objectivity and modesty that there has to be a creator for all this!
but let me remind everyone of this, we all have choices, we all have chances, and there will be no execuse for those who were offered a moment of reflection on such issues and chose to turn their back to persuing what's right, good luck to everyone we all need it

That is why it is good to pray and ask God to guide you and show you what to do. God doesn't want anybody to be "lost", it is our choice whether we go to heaven or hell. Just ask God for His Spirit to help you walk with Him now on earth so that later, when Jesus comes to get us you will be among the saved, and you won't be among the people "having nothing to say".

But what will you say when there's no one there to tell you what you've been doing wrong?
Or when you've been believing in God all the time and when you die, it turns out that the Muslims have been right all along?
What will you do then?

Let's imagine God really does exist and rewards some people with eternity in heaven after they die. There are 2 possibilities:
1) God cares more about whether or not people worshiped him in life than he does about how they treated each other. He allows those who worshiped him to enter heaven regardless of their actions in life and condemns all "non-believers" to hell regardless of their actions.
2) God cares more about how people treated each other in life than he does about whether or not they worshiped him. He allows people who selflessly looked out for the welfare of others in life to enter heaven regardless of their belief in him and condemns all who acted like selfish jerks in life to hell regardless of their belief in him.
In my opinion, the God of option 1 is evil. No one should worship such a selfish bastard. If that is an accurate description of God and the afterlife, I would prefer to burn in hell for eternity than to associate with such a despicable being.
The God of option 2 is benevolent and caring. The heaven he would create might actually be a good place to go. However, since he doesn't demand worship from people, even non-believers have a chance at it.
Being a non-believer only ruins your chances at heaven if heaven is actually someplace that should be avoided.
