In Serbian, nicknames for Alexander are Sasha, Sale, Leka, Alexa...
I think Sasha is used in other countries and cultures, too.

um my ex who's name was Alexander went by Alex. But his grandma called him xander but he hated that name. True story. i went out with him for a year so i know she called him that. But maybe if your middle intial is j go by aj. or whatever your last name intial is go by a(whatever it is) you know well i hope i helped.
