I recently read an article about illegals crossing the border and damaging the fences owned by ranchers causing them cattle loss and monetary damages.

Some ranchers are providing ladders along their fences so the border-crossers will not damage their fences. Others have resorted to installing electric fences to keep them from crossing.

Is it inhumane to install electric fences to keep illegals out?

Also.....what do you think about some of the ranchers providing ladders along their fence so it does not get damaged?

No, it isn't. No one is forcing them to touch the fence, no one is forcing them to come across our borders.

If you shock yourself on an electric fence while trying to break into someone's home, no one would consider the fence inhumane, would they?

Same principle.

I say Zap the crap out of them and they might get the message that what they are doing is wrong and they are not wanted. Hey a short sharp zap from a fence is better than spending 2 yrs in a Mexican prison which is the penalty for being and illegal alien there. And make the fence about 15 ft tall and about 6 feet deep then build a second one 50 yards away with more voltage not enough to kill just to incapacitate any one that touches it. That way they can be picked up and delivered back to their government.

Many ranchers have electric fences to keep the cows in. If someone climbs it and gets electrocuted, that's there own fault. Regardless, climbing an electric fence located, in Texas near the border or in the middle of Kansas, it's trespassing.

not only is it inhumane... it makes us see that some people care more about their property (that wouldn't be damage by this poor people) more than they care about a human l ife.
people that live in the US are soooo lucky to have so many benefits but it doesn't make them better than any other person and it does not give them the power to treat others of less fortune like animals. People in the US are getting away with discriminating because the goverment is too busy to better their immigration laws and give this people greater chances. While the government is too busy to pass laws pro-immigrants it has all the time in the world to enforce anti-immigrant laws...... so sad!

just reading these answers is unbelivable .. this is what america is... racism.... cold blooded racists.....

The best invention since sliced bread, thats the way to stop them from jumping the boarder... or breaking the wires, i say put up electric fences and volt them up to 22 000.. It will only take 1 to touch the wire to make a good example..

You can't demand access to somebody's land! They have a right to keep their land safe from the environmental destruction that illegal immigration causes.

Is it inhumane? I don't think so. They are coming here "for a better life", at a cost of our government services and businesses. That's called theft.

I think Mexico's treatment of their own people, the corruption, the racism, is much more inhumane.

Nope, it isn't wrong. The fences should be of a high enough voltage to kill them. All it would take is one dead illegal immigrant lying on the ground, and I daresay the next one coming would change his mind about trying to get over that fence.

No-no one is forcing anyone to climb the fence-stay away and you won't get hurt.
Many farmers use it for protection
Prisons use it for protection
Companies use it.
Some business use it
Some parks use it.
And so on.

when I was a kid, I pissed on an electric fence. Luckily my weiner still works normal. But I will never pee on an electric fence again. So yeah your right. Put up the electric fence, then people will learn that you should'nt touch it, much less pee on it.
