Okay I need someone to explain to me the difference btw 2 way speakers and 4 way speakers because a saleman told me these 6.5 2 way speakers would be perfect for my car, but I found out they have 6.5 4 way 250 watts speakers by Sony that cost just as much as these off name brands. I want to know do I have to keep these 6.5 2 way speakers (120 watts) or should I exchange them for the Sony speakers? My Alpine cd player pushes out 240 watts and I just recently blew out all 4 factory speakers in my car. Im not trying to spend a lot of money on speakers because Im purchasing a new car next year. So please can someone just tell me the difference between the two and if the 4 way can be installed in my car?

hear is the real answer for you.

on a 6.5 speaker that is a two way you have your basic mid bass speaker, and then your tweeter that gives you highs. on a 4-way generally, you have your cone which is now more of a bass speaker, then you have anther mid speaker, then most of the time 2 tweeters. the differnce is the speaker goes a little lower, and you can hear highs slightly better. thats the differnce. nothing more, nothing less.

Metalman56 lined it quite sturdy. in reality without a sub, you received't have a motor vehicle which will "shake with music and bass" . so that you favor a sub. as for 3 way vs 4 way, it really is a decision and also you favor to take heed to them, its kinda like asking it really is more suitable useful the red motor vehicle or the blue one... if you're easily after sound high quality, i'd propose getting a round speaker for the 4 significant audio equipment. in case your present day audio equipment are 6x9 there are adaptor plates accessible at a sturdy motor vehicle audio keep to in good structure a 6 one million/2" round in that area. a 6x9 will supply more suitable bass yet sound worse than a 6 one million/2" even if the lack of bass is a non project even as extra a sub, because the bass frequencies will be "reduce off" from the mains besides, and redirected to the sub. in case you favor to commence off sluggish i'd get a 4 channel amp, a sub and a couple of new audio equipment up the front, i recomend a ingredient set with a seperate woofer and tweeter. with those aspects you may makes use of the deck to ability the rear production unit audio equipment, then 2 of the channels to ability the recent the front audio equipment and the different 2 channels may bridge to ability the sub. this can provide finished frequency sound at a funds value. in case you wanting to characteristic more suitable ability and more suitable quantity, all aspects may nevertheless be usable, in basic terms purchase 2 new audio equipment for the lower back and ability all audio equipment with the 4 channel amp, then upload a sparkling mono amp for the sub. in case you bypass this route, in basic terms ensure the sub can carry a large style of ability for a destiny improve. i'd look at a 50x4 as a lot as a seventy 5 x 4 amp, and round a four hundred-600 watt sub. this is a large equipment with out significant electric powered equipment enhancements.

1) Do you have satelite radio (XM or Sirius)?
2) Can your car play DVD-Audios (not Videos like movies)?
3) Do you have any HD-CDs?

If you answer 'No' already to the first two questions, there is no point to get more than 2.1 speakers. My car came with 5.1 quality speakers, but I only enjoy the quality when I am listening to XM. I love the effect of 5.1 when the sound moves from the left rear to the right front and vice versa. Usually everything else available in the US is still using or broadcasting 2.1 quality.
