if Bob is such a nice guy .. he's obviously doing God's will, although bob does not acknoledge that it's god the one guiding his good actions, God knows that Bob is doing the right thing. I say he would go to heaven because he has faith in "good" and god is good :)

My question is...
why would he care if he has no love for God? The definition of an atheist is one who doesn't believe in God, therefore doesn't believe in Heaven or Hell by extension. The definition of hell is eternal separation from God, so why ask if you don't care or even believe?
Oh, unless you remember that little part about "weeping and gnashing of teeth" and you aren't too sure on your stand of atheism. Ewww. Not such a cozy thought.
"Bob" should find a friend who would take him to their church. Surely he must have one. But let Bob understand this:
if you're an atheist and YOU'RE right...no one will ever know. On the other hand, if you're wrong, we will ALL know.
Seriously, Bob....just find a good Bible believing pastor and hammer it out. A good one will welcome your deepest and darkest questions. What have you got to lose?
By the way, Bob, you don't sound like an atheist...you sound like an agnostic. There is still hope, Bob. There is ALWAYS hope.

All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God - bottom line is, if you are not as sinless as God (Jesus), then you are going to Hell, because God is Righteousness. BUT... He made a provision for EVERYONE to enter into His Heaven - believing Jesus came to accomplish all the things you could NOT do - and He did it for YOU. All you have to do is realize you can never do anything to gain God's favor, but Jesus did it for you. It's so easy, it's no wonder you can't see it. God blinds the hearts and minds of the so-called wise and gives grace to the humble. If you decide to go to Hell (and it IS your choice), you will not even see "Bob", for it is a place of eternal darkness and suffering of every one of your five senses, which are your soul. Believe you can be saved by faith in Jesus Christ's work (on the cross), and not by works or so-called righteousness that you have done. And you shall be saved! AMEN

lets not mix apples and oranges.

If Bob is an atheist and doesn't believe in God or heaven or hell, then when God calls his soul to the Judgement seat what do you think will be the ruling.

To be judged righteous is to accept there a God, and a judgement given to mankind for their unbelief in Him.
To be judged righteous would mean that you recognize there is such a thing as sin.
To be judged righteous means to believe that Jesus, the incarnate image of God, was the only pure and sinless lamb offered as a sacrefice for sin.
To be judged righteous would mean applying that blood as a covering to cleanse sins through baptism.
To be judged righteous would mean declairing openly that you are not ashamed to believe in God, and that Jesus Christ is God.

Cornelius was a moral man. He gave alms, and followed the teachings of the Torah. Yet according to God Cornelius lacked something.

The most humble, moral person in the world can still find themselves facing eternity in the wrong place because they heard and did not believe in God.

We are all born with the stain of Original Sin so unless Bob was baptised at some point in the Name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, he would go to Hell.

Active disbelief in God is a sin, however, so the Bob in your story is still a sinner.

We are not to judge the bible says:
Luke 6:37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven

But we can discern, the bible says:
Mat 5:20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed [the righteousness] of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

So it is through your mouth you have salvation and through your actions you are justified.
Rom 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

If you read the Bible you will find the answers don't make the mistake of thinking you can be saved through being a good person. You will be a good person because you are saved. I am not a christian. But, still I will say Bob will go to hell. He will be there to help the suffering beings of that realm and he will be the happiest than the heaven beings. Jesus will come once in a while to take advise from him on better heaven management.

most christians i have talked with will tell you that for poor ol' chap Sponge Bob, hell is waiting behind curtain number 1. quite honestly, i need religion like i need a blade in my achilles tendon - thus erupts my belief in heaven and hell. what i find extremely hard to believe is that one would be so confident in their knowledge of what God DOES TO and THINKS OF any particular human being at all. i would happily sit at denny's for eggs and toast with the writers of the bible, and jesus christ himself, simply to say what i have just said. how does ANYONE know what God knows? unless you are God: really, you have no idea what is going to happen to me. and if indeed you believe you are God - what in all hell are you doing here? *ahem* no pun intended.

God is not a novel. and if He's on a crusade for our friend Bob, then He's just a big meanie. and i am tired of typing. jesus is the way, the truth, and the light. and so is elvis presley.

Unfortunately Bob is not all that good and he is most likely going to Hell without a savior, Jesus Christ. Many good people will end up there and even some of those who claim to know Christ as an example (BTK) killer. God searches and knows the heart. He will know what to do with those who have refused to acknowledge Him. I guess thats why God (not us) will make that decision whenever their time comes.

He'll go to Hell. That's a no brainer. However, had "Bob" been a child rapist that repented, and asked Jesus into his life after he finished (raping children), he'd go to Heaven. Does that make sense? Of course not. Neither will any of the answers you receive from the Hellfire Christians.

-5 minutes later I'm back. Was my answer prophetic or what???
