I've been dieting and exercising for a couple weeks now, and this morning I was eating a banana for breakfast and my husband said if I want to lose weight, a banana isn't going to help.

He said they would make me gain weight. Is this true???

Bananas are high in sugar, even though it is a fruit. It has a high glycemic index, which means that it raises your sugar levels in your body quite rapidly, causing a surge of insulin. If you are trying to lose weight you should eat thes in moderation, as you are. A Banana a day is not going to undermine your weight loss efforts. remember, the only true way to lose pounds is to establish a calorie deficit. meaning you burn more calories than you intake. :) GOOD LUCK!

There are three main ways to lose weight quickly.

1) Use only water as liquid and eliminate all other liquid drinks from your diet. You must drink as much water as possible every day. You must drink about half of your weight. If you have weight of 200 pounds then you must drink about 100 oz of water.

2) The interval between the eating is very important. If you eat once, then you must eat next after 4 hours. You must take breakfast regularly. In the night eat your food three hours before going to bed.

3) Walking is very good. You must walk as much as you can. Walk everywhere you can. Use of elevators and escalators must be reduced and instead of these you must climb stairs more often.

These are some of the fastest ways to lose weight. By just following the simple steps, you can lose your weight very quickly. You must consult your doctor if want to change your diet or exercise routine.

Bananas can be high on the GI index and do hold quite a few calories but at the same time they will hold you for a long time. If you are worried about it then choice a smaller banana and cut back amounts.

Banana's give you plenty of energy, so they are good if you want to include exercise as part of your weight loss regime. I think banana's sit longer in the stomach and take longer to digest, but they slowly release energy.

Cut down the amount you eat, but they are still fruit and they are still healthy!
