I went to the VA walk in clinic, complaining about wheezing and coughing a lot, and the man who was working the walk in clinic told me he couldnt do anything for me or even prescibe me cough syrup because he is not a doctor. He made no suggestions and did absolutely nothing.

I am in the VA health system, and sometimes I have to go to urgent care when I am having trouble breathing.

First. I will assume you are speaking of a Veterans Administration walk in medical clinic. Second, I will assume you are a US military veteran. Third, I will also assume that you have already applied for VA medical services (you are required to register with them prior to being seen).

Now, that being said, you should have inquired how you could see a doctor, but since that did not happen, the next thing to do is to complain to the VA because, if that was a medical clinic, as opposed to an administration one for purposes of signing up veterans for services, medical staff must be in attendance during working hours.

The contact form for the VA is at: https://iris.va.gov/scripts/iris.cfg/php.exe/enduser/cci/ask_1.php

You have to be in their health care system for it to work for you. If you qualify, then you set up an appt. go in get an initial visit, and let them get all their paperwork mumbo jumbo filled out for you, then you can use the walk in clinic.
