I have found that listening to music really helps. Also, during the day try to spend time away from your room. Go for a walk, or chill with some friends. Avoid naps throughout the day also. When you are ready to sleep, turn off the tv, and just put on some relaxing music. It really helps me, and I also have trouble getting to sleep at night.

Do activities that are more relaxing before bedtime. Avoid activities that are too exciting or nerve wrecking (e.g. watching a horror movie, sad story on TV). For some, reading or watching some drama would be good. You may also want to take up yoga.
For me, I would tend to watch TV or DVD movies until I feel sleepy before I switch it off and go to bed.

have you ever tried watching an episode of a show called dragonball, better yet a movie because this puts you asleep on the spot (just make sure your on something you can actually sleep on)
Oh and I've also heard that banging your head against the wall really hard works too

i usually get to sleep without any problem. however if i can't sleep, i'll either do one of 2 things:-
1. when i was small my soldier father used to move from place to place and most of the time by train. so i used to sleep on trains and just imagining myself on a train going choo choo choo will get me to sleep...
2. i imagine myself floating in the air and spinning around and viola, i'm asleep!
or do what everyone says... count sheep!

try some Aromatherapy Essential oil to relax urself...
