my family just can't get along. my sis and bro make it hard to get together at family occassions. they make it hard to see the neice and newphew. i found that i was forever organizing family dinners, and now i stopped and thought someone else can make the effort and no one else did and we have not seen each other in ages. it's like everyone has forgotten what family is all about.

Welcome to my world. Family problems can sometimes have deep seeded roots, going back years until they finally culminate to the point wheres there's virtually no reconciliation. You'll probably have to wait for them to work it out themselves, and concentrate on your own family. If you're married, have children, plan some events for yourself, and instill your values in your kids. Hopefully, your example will show them to value each other, and you won't spend your golden years watching them hate each other.

Family is about being together. Family is about being one. No matter how many members there are in a family, you are one. There is always one person in the family who will always bring the family together. I see that your that one person. You said you stopped. Since you stopped, no one else has tried to bring your family together. Bring you family together when your ready, have dinner or whatever you want, and have everyone sit in the living room and talk out your problems.

You are just going to have to move on especially if you are the only one putting the effort into the family. You should never give your self a splinter for others that don't have the time or day for you. Good Luck in life.

My family is the same way. I take each out separately, that way there are no embarrassments for any of us. We still are in touch but not all at once...Much easier on my nerves. If they want to be buttheads let them. You stay mature and they might come around. Good Luck.

It's sad your family around you has gotten so caught up in petty differences that a simple family supper can't be made. However, YOU know the importance of family....and soon ( hopefully NOT too soon, though) you can embark on your OWN family journey.
In a couple of years, you can have your OWN workable family gatherings.

Well then you need to show them that you all need family..Talk to them and explain how much this means to you and that it would be good for everyone..Family is very important and fighting is not to be accepted..

i think its nice that you care about your family. family for anyone should be a big deal maybe you should do something the hole family likes to do such as old pics of when you guys were kids um old family movies

something must of happened for that reason has it always been like that some famils are very hard to get along with thats why its better to live far away best of luck.

While all families get like this......My sister isn't talking to me because my other sister told her I don't like her husband.........Eventually everything will come back together....Maybe you should plan another family dinner and try to talk to all of them and ask one of them to maybe host it at their house next time.....Maybe you should tell them how you feel......My family gets in fights all the time and we still love eachother......Even though we sometimes have to remind eachother of that...........It makes us stronger.......and I suggest you discuss your feeling with your family members!
